A little help when you need it

Some days are harder than others. You might feel angry, sad, worried, lonely or just completely overwhelmed. You don't need to know exactly why you feel this way to deserve support.

These free pages are here to help you understand your feelings, find small ways to cope, and know where to turn when you need someone. No pressure. Just somewhere to start.

Need someone right now?

If you've hurt yourself badly, taken too many tablets or anything harmful, or you feel you can't keep yourself safe, call 999 or go to A&E now.

Or talk to someone now. All of these are free and you don't have to give your name.

In my work with young people, I've learned that talking face to face isn't always the easiest way in. Some people find it easier to write things down, draw, listen to music, or go for a walk with someone and talk side by side. All of those count. Use whatever works for you.

Supporting a young person? A guide for workers and carers is being checked by a safeguarding professional and will be added here soon. Until then, please follow your organisation's own procedures.

Your privacy. There's no sign-up or payment, and Kithstep doesn't track who reads these pages. But pages you visit can still show in your browser history. If you share a phone or computer, use a private or incognito tab.

The yellow Leave this page button (or the Esc key on a computer) takes you straight to the BBC weather page. It can't delete your history.

Kithstep is not a support or crisis service, and we can't reply to messages quickly. If you need help, please use one of the services on these pages. These pages don't replace advice from a doctor or mental health professional.
